This is a course for literature lovers who like reading and discussing a good book in English. We will talk about the author, the structure, the themes and the characters in the book. Reading is a healthy habit in a hectic world. It gives pleasure and often food for thought. Why not join a group on Wednesday mornings to share thoughts.

Na het behalen van mijn bevoegdheid in de Engelse Taal en Letterkunde gaf ik les op de middelbare en hogeschool en verzorg ik nu al jarenlang avondcursussen bij de Volksuniversiteit.  Mijn missie is studenten te helpen Engels goed te gebruiken om vol zelfvertrouwen deze wereld aan te kunnen als wereldburgers die open staan voor andere culturen. Werken bij de Volksuniversiteit is voor mij een roeping, want de 21ste eeuw betekent voor iedereen een leven lang leren en ik hoop dat ik volwassenen kan inspireren en motiveren om over grenzen te gaan.

After finishing my Master’s in English language and literature I have had a long career of teaching English in secondary schools, at college and at Volksuniversiteit evening courses for adults. My mission is to help students become confident users of English and approach this world as global citizens with an open mind. Working at the Volksuniversiteit is to me a vocation, as living in the 21 st Century means lifelong learning for eveyone and I hope to inspire and motivate adults to get connected.
